Blackwood Banner Drop
Tired of government inaction on climate change?
The majority of us want our government to take strong decisive action on the climate and ecological crisis we are facing as they have done for the Covid threat.
Yet here we are.. worsening bushfire threats, extinction rates continuing unabated and a government doing very little to move our economy towards one that is sustainable and carbon-free. This inaction represents an existential threat greater than Covid and demands immediate attention.
Stand with us, your local Extinction Rebellion group, to encourage our community to take heart and compel the government into meaningful action before it is too late!
We will be doing a banner drop – on the sidewalk so there is no disruption to traffic – with the intention of letting locals know that Extinction Rebellion exists in the area and they can join us.
We are meeting at Waite reserve at 4:15pm Thursday 18th Feb, then walking to the corner of Young Street and Main Road (the former ANZ Bank) to do the banner drop. Please RSVP so we are able to contact you if there are any unforeseen circumstances (e.g. Covid, weather).
