On 22 March 2021 we will take off from Carlton gardens at 11:30 – be on time. From 12noon-12.30pm, Sybil Disobedients will move in unison through the concourse over the railyard at Southern Cross station.
Their procession will pause near the Batman’s Hill historical marker for an acknowledgement of the Wurundjeri.
As they proceed, the logos of industries on surrounding buildings will be named by a narrator drawing attention to their connection to our climate emergency. These industries are transport, finance, medical, media and energy.
They are all entwined in or adding to the global climate emergency and will be called on to acknowledge that there will be no future for our planet or our people if they do not change and improve their future actions.
In the final moments the Sybils will make a symbolic strong plea to AGL to abandon its damaging proposal to use a Ramsar site at Crib Point to import LNG and use water from Westernport to convert it to gas, at a time when we should be abandoning fossil fuels and supporting the establishment of clean, green, sustainable, renewable energy.
Come along to our beautiful creative action.
